Hi gang,
Not been lying low, just been on me ollydays checking out theme parks in Orlando !!!! Oh what fun.
Seems like one or two of our members are confused on where the proposed location of paramount park is.
Well, here is an arial shot I took from my private cessna jet earlier this year with the park location super-imposed as the previously known 'Condado 2'. As you can see, not much else around for miles so plenty of room for Casino's, Hotels and the likes. Early days but this is the best chance of us getting a restaurant that actually stays open all year in Al Kasar. Not cracking open my vintage wine just yet , but as I posted a few weeks ago, I am believing in Jesus more & more every day !!!.

Looking at the diagram of CDA just shows the immense scale of the original project.
Even in our developed half you'd have to think only about 1/3 (if that) of the land has been built on (taking out the golf course).
If the rest eventually did get developed it would be a busy place indeed.

I think they were originally talking 15,000 apartments and villa's spread across CdA1 and Cdall plus a fire station and hotel, medical centre, the Oasis, Foro and Agora and golf clubhouse andf possibly a school. There were to be orange groves here and there and a 'ferry' from La Isla to the Oasis. So it was to be a new 'town' in most respects rather than a holiday resort. I seem to remember being told the whole resort would be 7x7 km.
Now the site has been identified, although it doesnt sound as though that has been formalised yet, I hope they give updates on the funding progress. La Verdad reported that they have to raise several billion euro's and the present agreement has 1 year for everything to fall into place for it to become a reality.

Before you all get to excited about all this read this article on simply networking, it puts all this hype into perspective.
http://www.simplynetworking.es/news_further.php?id=3973&top_id=31
As it says nothing about the location has been officially released, its all still speculation, and the main point which everyone seems to be ignoring where is the money going to come from, who at the moment has these amounts of money to invest in a country which is pretty well on its knees.

I think we've mostly understod that it was a 'leaked' bit of information and not formalised yet. La Verdad are insisting they have an accurate source, but who knows, as all these type of articles do is to promote property sales and increased interest in the area which is what its all about for now. The leak was also done on the back of the corruption issues, so could be a destraction and other evidence is saying no decision on location for several months. Apparentley they have a year to find the funding or the deal has to be revisited and Fuente Alamo is held in reserve pending problems. Several articles, albeit from estate agents, are saying that the money is coming from Europe and the Arab states and they are heavily prompting property in and around Camposol.
Wherever it's built it doesnt really sound as though its something that is going to happen soon, I'm reading 3- 5years..

I think most people realise the whole project is merely at its infancy and IF it manages to get the end stage of a Theme Park etc it probably will take a few years. I'd be surprised if it happened in the next 5 years.
But I think we have to be happy that CDA is touted as the most favoured spot. And if it gets built elsewhere its not going to be far away...obviously this won't bring in all the benefits of it being on the doorstep but it would still be a good addition to the area.
As far as investors there are always people out there with money. There would be investors/speculators who made a mint out of the banking collapse and others who weren't greatly affected.
If you're going to build something then now is about as cheap as it will get and that will appeal to some...always assuming that they are happy that by the time they are finished things have improved to make the investment worthwhile.

SMV,
You're right. This is when the people with the 'smart money' make a killing. It happens in all sectors every time there is a recession or lean time.
Regards,

I was out last week and happened to stroll into the tourist office in Puerto Mazzarron. The guy in there was quite positive that it was on the site of land betyween the three motorways. So when you leave Condado and are at the roundabout on the RM23, its the land opposite. He even said 'do you know the old building that was built for the train station that was never used. Well its their.' Well if you look to your right just before the RM23 joins the RM2 (or is it RM3, always getting confused) the building is there.
