Going to the apartment

  Hi all, 

 We have complete on porto fino, and will be out there at the end of feb. Can any one tell us how dirty the apartments are, how much there has be be done. we are going to furish the apartment ourself

ours wasn't too bad. We booked into a cheap hotel for a few nights in Roquetas. We had previously stayed in the Almerimar hotel (got a really good deal there off the internet). Probably only spent a day getting place cleaned buying and fitting lights. Needed a couple of days for buying beds and a few other essentials so we could live in it. Would definately recommend the do-it-yourself approach. However, there are a lot of things that are a lot cheaper in UK than in Spain. We bought a load of stuff at home and got it shipped over with a bloke who used to do regular runs between Spain and UK. But he seems to have disappeared, I heard he was not well and since then hasn't answered any communications.

Got the beds from Radiovision in El Ejido. There's a muebles (furniture shop) there as well, commonly known as Aladin's cave, where we got some furniture - they deliver. Got a lot of stuff from Leeroy Merlins at Roquetas and a few bits from Briko Mart.

I am guessing that Aladin´s cave might be a place called Mercachollo. It is piled high with stuff and I think it adopts a pile it high, sell it cheap sort of approach.. I think they deliver from stock whereas you may have to order furniture in a number of other places. So if you are in a rush to furnish a place it is not a bad shop to go to.

It will probably be very dusty! But otherwise they are pretty clean - and easy to keep clean, being tiled...
