Hi Art,
Will we be liable for a "council tax" to Almoradi to pay for street lighting, rubbish collection etc.
Has that already been sorted or is it on the list? Best Wishes Gill.

Thats a good one!!
I e mailed Graham on the committee to see if the charge is included. some communities do others don't. i researched the web and it states that it has to be paid between september and november or penalties can incur. it is also the responsibility of the property owner to sort it out. as soon as i have a reply I'll let you know

I EMAILED GRAHAM AND HE SAID THAT THE LETTER ABOUT THE MEETING WILL BE IN OUR LETTER BOX IN ALMORADI SO I WILL HAVE TO WAIT TILL I GO OVER . SO I BET THE LETTER TELLING US ABOUT THE MEETING THERE TOO YOU THINK THEY WOULD SEND IT TO OUR HOME ADDRESS INSTEAD

It seems that some residents received their letters here in the U.K. but for the rest of us they are waiting in our post boxes in Almoradi. Well not to worry, as Art says we can submit our home and e-mail addresses to the commitee and it won,t happen again.At least things are getting sorted.

Hi All,
I'm just back yesterday from the apartments, and was hoping to add some info about the meeting, which had taken place just before I got there. I see however Art was obviously there or had got info about it, and I didn't glean any more really either. My letter was also in the post box there. I spoke briefly with Ard, the Dutch guy who had been appointed original vice-Pres or whatever last summer, and he seemed to think the meeting had been successful - a new Committee appointed (I think the Pres (or might be a joint Pres?) is resident there, and I THINK, but not sure , that he might be in 312 - Apologies to resident of 312 if this isn't correct!!!!!!! A few other people have become involved in keeping an eye on things, eg a lady is trying to look after the plants around the pool. I was told that there had been an agreement at the meeting to replace the main doors (all the entrances) - I think because they were too noisy for the people living near them presumably, and also some people thought that because they are a sort of open weave, this was allowing a lot of street dust etc to blow in. I think it was probably resolved to do this job. I assume a vote was taken by those who were there or whatever for this to be decided, and if you aren't there, then obviously you don't get a say. I noticed on the letter notifying me of the meeting (if I had actually got it in the UK this might have worked) that you can vote by proxy, sending a bit of the form back giving the name of someone to vote for you, so if you had views I suppose that might be worth doing in future. I also heard the same amount of 70 euros a quarter being the likely community charge on average. Apart from that, things are looking fine - jacuzzi seemed to be working once more (for now!) and everything seemed in order. Weather was lovely!

I know something was mentioned about entrance doors during the meeting. I raised a point regarding the security of the building as it appears both residents and non residents have bought parking spaces, this may allow non residents access to the lifts etc. i know that the committee were going to address this issue.
Glad that the weather was good. Unfortunately it wasn't that good when we were there. Hope it improves Easter.

Gill,
The council tax will be set for our building in about six months time. This wil be seperate to our community charge and is called "Impuesto de Bienes inmuebles", (IBI) .
As stated before it has to be paid between September and November, after that time penalties can incur

Hi Carol, I know what these senior moments are like, just thought for one awful moment that Ron had left and someone else had moved in! I am out either side of Easter but wish we were going at Easter now as it sounds as if there are a lot of celebrations happening.

Hi Art, Thanks for that , something else to look out for! Would you know anything about Agualest Payments? We made a payment last August which I presume was a connection charge ,but nothing else since then.I thought that we paid water bills the same as electric bills, every 2 months. Sorry to bombard you with another question. Gill.

your water bill is every 3months mine goes out my bank account and the elec is 2 months and that goes out my bank account they both went out this month. (oh well poor again )
