I received TWO phone calls on Friday. The first was in response to asking for updated construction photos on the actual Polaris website for HR. The gentleman said they would be updating the contsruction photos - soon. He then informed me that we should be completing for Phase One in November. I said he had to be kidding as we had dates for 23 October (keys) and 24 October (completion), whereby he then said his dates were purely an estimate and that if I have been given exact dates then they were more reliable. The second phone call was concerning if we had considered a mortgage yet. I said I was doing my sums to see which mortgage would be beneficial in the long run. I must say that we had funds on a 3 month fixed deposit with Cajamurcia and neven contacted them as the end of the 3 months to put the funds on for a further three months. When I contacted them to say I would like them put into a further fixed interest account for another three months, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had automatically 'renovated' it at the end of the first 3 month period, therefore I have been earning interest all the time and will continue to do so until I ask them to transfer it back to a current account. What UK bank/building society would have done that??
Back to the second phone call from Polaris. I asked if it would be possible if we could come out a week earlier and do the completion, subject to an OK snagging list, as the last week in October is when the flights go up for the schools' half term holidays. The lady said it would be more difficult as they wouldn't be able to organise the services/utilities then, so I asked her to confirm that the utilities would be on for 24th October and she said 'no - because it is out of their control and could take 30 days????? Confused? So am I!! She will be phoning me again next week to confirm whether completion can or will be moved and I will be asking again about the connection of the utilities.
I also asked about the special rates they are adverting for 'completers' and was told that we would be able to stay in the apartment once we have completed and my response was 'what with no water or electricity??'
