Anyone know if work has started yet. We went over in late July and were told that work would commence very early in September but nothing on the message Board so far. They were insistent that they can get back on schedule but worrying if there is still no activity.

Just arrived back from Corvera and no work started as yet. We were assured that it was 'imminent' and maybe to back that up there were 4 or 5 portacabins that have been erected for the workers. Also rows of trees and plants lined up ready to go. I will upload some pictures from the show flat which is a 3 bed Tilo. We had some bad weather this time and found Los Alcazares and the Mar Menor to be quite grim in the 'cold light of day'. However Corveras' setting with the mountain backdrop still felt good, far better than the motorway view on Polaris Alley !!!! A lot of work had been completed at Cartegenas marina with some new bars and cafes, which was a nice place to chill out.

Just for info, the Corvera web site has been updated and now shows ariel views like the Roda site. Obviously nothing happening yet but should get interesting as time goes on. Look next to the 'showhouse' button.

Hi all, just received a message from Pablo at the Sales office. He says that ground works have already started, i.e. roads, access, electricity and so on(?). Following that work will start on construction of Phase I and landscaping the golf course. He says they intend to complete Phase I within the timescale set since opening the sales office at Corvera. I find this very hard to believe as the date that was set when we visited the sales office was June 07. I'm sure it will take longer than 9 months to build all the apartments and villas in Phase I along with a complete golf course and club house etc, and they haven't even started yet!! However, I may have mis understood, on reflection perhaps he means Phase I will be built within 18 months of commencement of construction. Anyone else any up-to-date info.

Hi davej, just referring back to your previous message, I wondered if you were able to upload the photographs of the show flat. I would be very interested. Many thanks. Anita.

Hi Sam
I hope you are mistaken about the date on your contract! My wife and I have bought on phase 2 which we were told would be started in December 2006 and finished in June 2008.

Are these dates actually stated in your contracts. Our contract just states that the works will be completed within 18 months of commencement of construction, for which it also states that we should be notified by special delivery two weeks before commencement. We were only told that it would be completed in June 2007, but then again work was supposed to commence in January 2006, Easter 2006, June 2006, July 2006, September 2006.......... I think that at the very least, most completion dates given at the very start, i.e. April 2005, must have shunted by at least six months.

Hello All, I am new to this message board and glad to see that this site exists for us to discuss issues as they arise. I have bought a Tilo at Corvera and so far: 1) Have had issues with part of the contract - which has now been sorted out after 10 months and solicitor intervention with threat of withdrawal from purchase by me. 2) Have had a slow response from solicitors recommended by McAnthony but have been overall satisfied with work from them. No problems with MacAnthony, though, and agree with their choice of Corvera as a good investment. ( I don't work for MacAnthony, by the way). 3) Find it hard to believe that Corvera is still on track. The contract I have does talk about delivery of properties within 18 months on obtaining the Building Licence and the bank guarentees continue in force until the date of completion of the building. The contract also states that Corvera needs to inform us when building work starts. Look forward to further developments as they occur. Ash

Whatever the contracts say, June 08 would be about right for Phase 1 completion if they start right now. The building work in Spain doesn't exactly move at a lightning pace and that's only 20 months to complete all Phase 1 and a golf course from scratch.

I have bought on phase 2 and my contract definetely says it will be ready in june 2008 - having said that , i cannot imagine it will be which is not such a problem to me although I would have ideally have liked it in 2008. I should imagine it is a real pain if this is for investment only but in my case I hope to retire there in 10 years so just missing out on a probable year of holiday there

Hi - We are buying on Phase 2 and contract stipulates completion within 18 months of obtaining building licence. At the time of purchase that was projected to be June 2008. Our agent was told last month that completion is still expected "Summer 2008". I have emailed Corvera direct for confirmation but so far no reply. Like dedgley we are intending retiring to Corvera so any delay is not a big problem for us - but I can appreciate that it's not good for investors.

Hi We've visited Corvera on 21st September just in time to see digger/JCB arriving on large lorry. We were told by sales office purpose of the digger is to start putting roads/infrastructure in ready for workers to start. I was also given a copy of CD Rom marketing the show aparment. Also some trees have been removed where they were originally growing and being planted plus another office across road opposite sales office which will be a 'technical office'. Regards Cath
