Just to let you know I attempted to sort out my council tax last week. We purchased in June 2010 so I expected payments to be due for the 2011 year. I found the Town Hall in Torre Pacheco ok (a very modern building on Calle Mayor) and talked to some very helpful Spanish staff, with the result that they said that there was nothing on the system yet (ie nothing due for 2010, and 2011 bills not ready yet) and suggested I call back in around September / October 2011. As it happens we have booked a return visit around that time so should fit in nicely.
