Watchdog???

Hello all... Our agent has informed us that the builder will be releasing our apartment on 9th March. Can anyone tell me how long is the completion process once you go out to sign etc.  How does the furniture get delivered e.g assembled or flat pack and when does the furniture arrive e.g is it before you sign or after.  Advice will be gratefully recieved...

The builder may release it though it doesn't mean it is ready though I would get your agents to confirm it is actually complete before arranging anything we got a letter from the builder saying the house is now complete and can you organise the title deeds signing but when we were over there for the community meeting for 409-551 we popped up there and the front still wasn't clear of rubbish and was not levelled off ready for tiling or gravel the show house didn't have the keys so that we could look inside and various other things

I was told my property was ready for completion last December, however I am still waiting because the necessary paperwork has not come through yet. Still waiting for building completion certificate (equivalent to our 10 yr NBHC) and the habiation license, then its all systems go!

I went out mid Feb and the apartment was finished and the furniture in, although not unwrapped.

The end bit with all the waiting is the hardest thing I find!!!!

I look forward to meeting everyone once we have all  moved in, although I won't be living there all the time, but will be taking extended holidays, can't wait!

it looks like the process of completion also depends on your estate agent or better said, the information and assistance he is offering you. We were quite well informed and received a letter from the builder at home for making an appointment to complete. We choose the best date for us and our agent organized all other official parts  in such a way that we could sleep the 1st night in our appartment directly. We received together with the builders letter also a building guarantee (10 years is obliged) and 3-years free of insurance for most of the items (not all!). Our furniture was still wrapped in foil (luckily) so we could check it as first parts. Even though the quality of the furniture is not that high, it is still good to start with. Be aware that you still have to clean a lot (look at earlier messages on the forum) and that especially tiles is a point of attention. We were recently for one week at DH and needed 3 days to clean (doing it good). We did not have many issues but they are not solved yet. Try to bring your list with issues before Thursday mornings as we understood from the Dutch lady in  the piloto that every Thursday morning the chief builder collects the list. If you are lucky, he will start solving already issues when you are still there. Us is told that they will never enter into your appartment without letting you know first. Good to inform your agent to take care about it. Last but not least; summarized we are quite happy with the whole proces but clearly let our agent know; you were very good before the sales but now we will be very interesting how your after-sales will be...
