Sending Money to Spain

Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone has advice as to the most cost effective way of transfering funds to Spanish accounts.

I`ve always used HIFX but I`m not sure they are the best for smaller amounts as the rate increases with the amount, I`m thinking Sean is perhaps the man on this but has anyone got any suggestions...

I'm afraid I'm not really Roger. Being in the euro (no laughing please) ourselves transferring to Spain is simple from here - I can do it online from Irish BAnk to my Spanish one for 50 cent and obviously with no exchange rate. HAve you tried your own bank online?? It may be that it is the easiest and quite possibly the cheapest in the long run

 try global currency exchange   we send smallish amounts each month to cover outgoings in spain,  they deal with it very efficiently. 

Thanks for all the info guys.......I did actually arrange a transfer from a Spanish lady who is renting our house through my bank, Lloyds TSB.....for a 150 euro transaction they gave me a rubbish rate and charged £10 for the privilage....rob dogs!!! so wont be using their services again in a hurry..

Try Travelex on line, look like reasonable rates, costs 99p.

He also gives the Post Office web page, Transfer Free!! but rates not as good when I checked.
