Air Con Leaking Water

Hi all,

Bought my place last summer ground floor and everything was great. Had aircon put in and was told that the bedroom with doors aircon point was blocked and the water would not drain away. Anyone know who is responsible to fix this. Is it me or the bank?

Sorry for the news but it sounds like a build issue with the apartment. I had the same issue and had to get Polaris out to fix the issue. I only found this out to my cost after noticing dampness on the wall  under the air con unit. I had to get the air con supplier out to confirm the issue before Polaris would come onsite. This is a common issue with some of the apartments or so I have been told. There must be some warranty if the drain is blocked so I suggest you go back to the bank. It is not hard to fix but just painful trying to people to take responsibility

 I had this same problem in my apartment, it turned out to be the bung was left in the waste pipe outlet under the kitchen sink.

This is not a major problem and simple for the air conditioning people to sort out. All that is needed is for a small vent to be inserted into the drain pipe just behind the offending unit. the vent which is a small piece of plastic and costs about 1 euro, is there to allow the pipe to breath when it gets full of water, otherwise a vacuum is created and the water will not flow away.

Contact Appollo Air Con or anybody else who knows their way around a unit and they will fix it immediately. Don't bother with Polaris or any build guarentee stuff - waste of your time and you will get old before it is sorted.
