Ryanair Crap Passport

Hi,

Have any other unfortunates purchased the Ryanair Crap Passport Credit Card?  Trying to reload this card is a nightmare, finding the correct procedure to reload your card is difficult enough.  Once you get access to the reload procedure you are then treated to a total fiasco which allows you to fill out all the labourious details requested only to be advised that your card cannot be reloaded at this time.  Mr O'leary I am convinced, has a determination to piss off all prospective travellers and I'm afraid he is succeeding.  If it's not having you decipher illegible codes prior to the booking process it's scunnering you when trying to reload your card, not to mention cancelling your flight without warning or consultation just because he doesn't wish to pay air traffic control fees when all other airlines do.

I have also got one of the ryanair cash passport which is really a travelex cash passport just badged up as ryanair but I have had not problem with the reload procedure i have just set it up as a payment on my online banking and I just do it through my bank as and when I want to put cash on it.  It takes up to two hours to get from my bank to the card account on a faster payment procedure

Yes we got one of these to avoid some of the costs and so far it's saved us approaching £100 in admin fees. Absolutely no probs reloading. We reload on-line and it takes seconds. As with all the cheap airlines you have to play the game - personally I'd rename this thread to 'Ryanair Great Passport'!

Got to the bottom of the problem.  Prior to the Ryanair Cash Passport I had an Escape card which operated in a similar fashion and prior to October 2011 didn't attract the £6 administration penalty with Ryanair.  I reloaded the Escape card via my debit cards online, never had a problem.  When I purchased the Cash Passport I loaded £600 initially.  I have been trying to reload the Cash Passport for the past few days, at least 30 times with no success.  I called Travelex today and spoke with Patricia who was most helpful.  I tried to reload my Cash Passport on the 16th of Jan, again without success.  The reason for this according to Patricia was because I tried to reload the Cash Passport with a different Debit Card from the one I used to purchase and load the card initialy.  My Cash Passport has been locked ever since and will be unlocked in 24hrs after contacting travelex today.  This is a very poor state of affairs.  With the Escape card you can reload with any card without a problem.  The annoying thing about the Cash Passport is that it doesn't give a reason for not reloading, it doesn't advise you to contact Travelex, it just continues to tell you to retry later.  I find it incredulous that I have to use the same card that I used to purchase the Cash Passport to reload it.  Strange, but according to Patricia true.

I just reloaded on 25th Feb, no issues. Moved to this after finding my pre-paid mastercard was no longer fee free :(

Loaded £500 for flights, went to book, prices up so needed another £30 added but min was £150, grrrrr!

Please mind if not a regular user you need to use card every 6 months else they will charge £2.50 per month, if you run out of funds then you will also incur £10 fee so can become costly if you tuck away in a draw and forget.
