Hi Glasgasteve,
I have replied to simular thread's before.
Iberdrola will and do disconnect any owner whose bill is not paid, sometimes an owner thinks that there is enough funds in their Spanish bank but after Mileniun or other parties take their share there may not be enough?
So if on the day Iberdrola request payment if there is not enough in the account then they take the meter no letters, no e-mail, no warning this is the way they work (So does Urbaser the Water company)
In the case of Urbaser it can be sorted quickly by paying the bill and getting reconnected within a day or two. as for Iberdrola this requires a new contract and can take up to two weeks and no matter what you say, threaten or do they will do it at their pace?
So it goes without saying make sure there is more than enough funds in Spanish accounts to pay all bills as the companies do not allow any time delay or send warning letters etc. Also if Community fee is not taken due to lack of funds you will be classed as a debtor (after 30 days) and will be subject to 20% late payment charge in accordance with our Statutes.
Estimate your bills and add extra funding......Electricity cost expected to rise 4 times this year?
