Any news on the new supermarket in the Spanish village re the opening..

Hi Dex,

There is a big Mercadona at the bottom of the road that leads to Hacienda and a small mini attached to the Spaniards Inn.

There are a couple smaller ones in Fuente town.

Cafferour have 2 in Cartegena 20mins drive also a hughe El Cortes which has a supermarket section similar to John Lewis in the basement.

Hi All,

I am the person opening the new supermarket and bakery on here, I am looking to be open in around 3 weeks due to some delays. We are selling all your usual supermarket things but also we have installed a bakery counter where we will start to sell fresh bread, Pastries such as sausage rolls, pasties etc and will also have a rotisserie machine for roast chickens and ribs. There will also be things like slush and hotdogs available aswell.

Wonderful news . Are you going to open Sundays as we have a lot of people arriving on a Sunday and the Mercadonna is closed.

Hi Ricky,

Yes we will be open on Sundays but for a reduced time, I havn't finalised times yet but Sundays may be 10 - 4 and Monday to Saturday might be around 9:30 till 6 to start. Obviously times will probably change slightly once we start opening and the resort gets busier.

Will you have any supplies for people requiring gluten free products.  We are visiting in august.  My wife and daughter have Coeliac Disease and it is a pain to find the 'speciality diet' section in the supermarkets.

I appreciate you may not be able to as there are so many special diet requirements out there, (lactose free, dairy free etc.).  coeliac.org.uk for more info should you like to find out more.  (1 in 100 people have it).

Hi Phil,

I appreciate your situation but at the moment i will be stocking the essentials and looking to expand on stock over the coming months. The problem i have is that at the moment if i try and stock everything when the resort isn't exactly bouncing then i will end up with a massive amount of waste and out of date goods that will have to be discarded and that will have an effect on the progress of the shop.  Of course i want to try and cater for everyone but this will take time.
