Does anyone know who this company are as they seem to have a direct debit set up for my bank acccount for 25.86 euros for which I have not got a clue what this is.

Not a good start with Socamex
. We received our online bill and they tell us we used 42 M3 of water for a week in July whereas normal water consumption for the last four years is 1 M3 to 3M3 a week when the apartment is occupied. When I e mailed Urbaser the address is now void. The new address is dmas@socamex.com.es
Can't understand this as the water is turned off at the main when we leave. The only thing different this time is that the apartment next door to us appears to have been sold, so we are wondering if as previously, the pipes are connected wrongly.

Yep,
Socamex has taken my quarterly direct debit for water this month. As mgk says, probably a name change. It's the same amount as Urbaser have taken in the past for an empty apartment.

I have had a payment taken from bank for 60euros to Socamex water company.. Have only been over for 8 days back in October (half term) Last bill was 22 euros, end of september for 5 units of water used , think 60 euros sounds a lot. I turn off the water in the apartment. I did take a meter reading before I left but cant remember what it was now. Back next week so hope I haven't got a leak on the meter.

Just received latest socamex bill, bearing in mind we live here full time. For the period Oct - Dec Total €46.03
There are changes to previous bills in as much as the water charges are €37.22 and they have introduced a new company onto their factura called Esamur, this appears to relate to Condado, some sort of charge for living here? [€8.81] Will ask at Milenium.

Check your water bills, it appears we are now being charged for re-cycling waste water on top of the supply charge from Socamex [Urbaser], when was this set up? are they actually doing anything? or is this another form of stealth tax
Do not have a problem with paying extra if it is a genuine green scheme, but it would be nice to be informed prior to extrication of funds from my bank acc. [ the name of the re - cycling company is' Esamur']

MGK, how did your latest bill compare with the one before?. My latest was 48 Euro...but that was double the previous. like you we live here and I try to be very careful with water....just curious if Ive done something wrong this bill, thanks in advance Denise

Hi Denise, our usual water bill is around the €30 mark bi - monyhly, but on this latest one as mentioned in previous post they have introduced a re-cycling company into the family and are charging me an extra €9, I don't mind if this is a genuine attempt to clean up our water supply, but it would have been nice to let us know beforehand

I just checked my bank statement and have noticed that I have been charged 117 euros even though the property has been locked and water turned off since August last year. This is the second time this has happened to me the first time was roughly the same amount I approached the offices of millennium to see if they could help but were would totally useless basically blaming me and anything else for usage. They gave me an email address for the so called service manager at socamex who was also basically useless.
has anyone else had any success in communicating with anyone with even the slightest amount of customer service? if so i would be grateful if they could let me have any details.
also how do you get the online bills? i only get paper ones sent to the mail box?

Which garden???? The water was pouring out of one metre today, Urbaser was on scene. It was the garden to the left of Condado club if my back is to squash courts....someone has to pay for that water...if you werent on scene how would you ever know about it?????

los naranjos garden 2, well that is what i think happened last time however millenium swears the leak was on our nieghbuors meter which afterwards only showed 3m while ours showed 98m.
why are there so many leaks on meters

Back from CDA. With reference to older post on the matter of water, Arrived to find our meter on 75.5 m and not a leak to be found anywhere. Bearing in mind when I left last time on November 6th with a reading of 24.8m, we have lost 50 units of water somewhere. Collected our bill from the mail box which read that the meter was read on the 20th December with a meter reading of 56 and total bill of 60euros. so still owe for another 20units. We were on Condado for 11days and used 3.3m of water this time The meters have been connected now for about two years and we have only had only used 24 units in that time. Its a total mystery where 50 units has gone. We went to ML and showed her the Bills but she couldn't do anything because she said she had rang them before with similar issues and they just say if thats what the reading is then thats what you've used. But surely when you have been billed for 3 to 5 units quarterly then suddenly you used 34 surely they should be investigating it. The only thing we can think off is that when they read the meters in December we had a leak on the meter and by the time they came out to fix it, it had burnt another 20 units in that time. Did anyone see a leak or anything between november and January in N2. If that was the reason surely the water company should inform you. This time we have turned the water off not only in the apartment but at the meter too.
Our box isnt locked but Ana has said that ML are counting up the boxes without locks and should be locked up soon.
Also does anyone know why there is a wiring box and wires fitted to the meters now as these wires haven't always been there .
We once had a leak to the meter, last year sometime and Ana did phone us to make us aware of it but as the leak was upto the meter it wasn't registering. She was just telling us in case we were on site and the water company had been called out to fix it.
This water nightmare has really baffled us. If anyone can throw any light on it we would be grateful. Thanks
