I am sure you are not alone in commenting about the litter, sadly given the parlous state of local authority finances, services such as litter clearing will suffer more and more.
Yes we pay high IBI fees but as in the UK much of this has been spent on things the local authorities or governments cannot afford.
Roda Resort is generally litter free as there are adequate bins and collections but sadly outside the Spanish are prone to be litter louts and this continues to collect in drain ditches and on roadsides.
With regard to what can be done, well it has taken 5 years for San Javier to provide lights on the bridge to Roda and they had money then, now income is severely down with no funds fron property development etc.
As to those, running Roda, well that is the likes of you and I as Roda is made up of a number of Communities of Owners with an Urban Entity above the Communities. The Entity has a Town Hall representative on it but I m not they have attended a meeting for a year or so . The Entity has made a number of representations to the Town Hall over numerous issues, normally with little success.
You will appreciate, we all own in an Urbanisation that is an integral part of San Javier, NOT strictly the five star private resort we once thought. The Town Hall are responsible for all services around the area, though we at Roda choose to pay for security and private bin clearance.
If you feel strongly, which you should, of course, you need to make representation to the Entidad via the Resort Administrator, Resortalia, roda@resortalia.com and ask for your concerns to be put to the Entidad Board. Hopefully you should receive a response.
