Are community rules observed anymore?

I see on FB someone offering to make gates for the properties but they are all brown and surely the rules say we must have white gates other than the terrace entrance gates? Plus I'm seeing brown privacy fencing on top of walls and sky dishes here and there that you can see- they are not hidden.

Have all rules gone now? That 'cowshed' in G7 remains and someone in J8 has put up brown trellis then lined it and stained it all- really ugly- is this allowed? Elsewhere I see other breaches to the published rules is no-one ever to police these?

I'd like to block in my pergola and create another bedroom upstairs (occasional use) as its just big enough for a double bed and minimal furniture- one glass wall with integral blinds and build up the other walls, but hesitate to do this because of the 'rules' but many others are not observing them.

Other than that CdA is looking lovely- we stopped during a stay in Alicante to check on the place and can honestly say its come on in leaps and bounds- will have to revamp our self catering advert!

The downstairs gates should be brown to replace the existing wooden ones, only the upstairs should be white.

Yes, I know and thats what I meant -only the gates to the terrace should be brown. However I'm seeing brown gates upstairs and adverts for someone who will make upstairs metal gates in brown. I'm also certain the trellis on top of any wall should be white.

What I'm asking is have these rules been relaxed- officially or unofficially? I'm sure I read ages ago one of the Presidents saying she'd had all new brown gates and trellis work (gates being okay as she's groundfloor but trellis?) and if I'm correct does it mean things are more flexible now?

My real gripe is why bother with a set of community rules if no-one is going to enforce them? I feel that when rules are relaxed some people are going to end up with something ugly in their viewpoint when they have tried to manage their property within the rules. At the end of J8 someone has put up brown trellis then covered it with a netting then stained it brown- very ugly and I'd suggest unfair on their neighbours- but does anyone care?

Hi Tony, I think I know the apartment you mean and it is a pity they have blocked out the trellis. I can live with either white or brown trellising and don't dislike it, afterall it gives an element of privacy but these owners have covered it with something and then stained it all dark brown. Big pity as they have cut out any view over that end of the block for everyone but bigger pity because it is so unattractive from our side. I just hope that one day they'll be told to remove it all as its against community rules, I also thought wall trellis had to be white- but I'm not holding my breath.
