Are we alone- is anyone buying on Jardines? There were so many unavailable when we visited the site office but so few people visit the forums. Or so few post anything.
We are hoping for golf opportunities (or my better half is) relaxation and to meet new people, is anyone else? We are buying as a holiday home is anyone else? Or is everyone else buying on Jardines to rent- surely not? This message was last edited by JHMurcia on 3/30/2007.

I,m still here , we originally intended to rent but looking more likely we will live there now. Did you see program on selling abroad. Couple trying to sell 3 bed semi near Mar Menor £186000. Presenter took them to polaris to show them competition . Jardines used as example of how competative price is. Its probably going to late 2008 early 2009 before we can live there. See Hacienda Riquelme message board and El Valle, they had to wait for licence of first occupier .Some plots on Jardines are already dearer than originally advertised. We started Nov 2005 with this venture so it will be a 3 year wait for us. It gives me chance to learn more Spanish- Michel Thomas again. Thanks for recent photos - need more info from anyone out there -

We've got one in Jardin 5, plot 442. A 2 bedroom apartment which will be mainly used as a holiday apartment and let out to family & friends. Plan to retire there one day. Going out on Good Friday for a week and decided to stay at La Torre to give the kids a feel for the Polaris enviroment as they haven't seen the place yet. Watch this space for more photo's although they'll just be of soil no doubt.

Think we plan to semi there retire, which could be as soon as 2010- although that will depend on youngests Uni plans. Probably should have looked at the forums before we decided to buy because once we'd logged on it did seem that we'd be surrounded by rental property which wasnt our hope for the retirement home, but then they can't all be rental. Didnt see the programme but heard about it. Work colleagues were very complimentary about the various Polaris properties so nice to know wasn't just us thought it all looked good. Our agent did say a lot of people have bought a 3 and a 2 so they can live and rent at the same time. When you look at the Polaris whole plan for the resort it seems impossible to think you could make a reliable income from rental as there will be so many properties and naturally some will offer better outlook, smaller number of properties in a garden etc. Plus the fact there are so many at reasonable prices makes it hard to see a quick high yield froma sale. So hopefully we'll be alot of residents and holiday homers, we will be in Jardines 07, think we will have paid a bit more than yourselves. Anyway thats for the future- we just want to get in and have fingers crossed for late 2008. looking forward to more photo's of sand and land with construction vehicles!!

I used to sell Polaris World properties and although a lot of people did buy to rent, many people were buying to live or part live in them. Also the good prices and amenities and qualities compared to the local towns and developments mean that many spanish people have been buying to live in full time. I think initially it will be full of investors and tenants but as the commercial areas get built and the place establishes itself there will be many full time residents.
I have 2 properties there - one to rent out and possibly one to live in so i hope it will have a sense of community - im pretty sure it will in time.

What you are saying, jamiealmeria, makes it a bit clearer. You know more about how these things progress and we are new to the concept. We have holiday'd on developments with community pools and so on and they have always been well kept . One such development was set up very like just one garden of Jardines and it was split between terraced town houses and apartments although the design was clever and they all looked like town houses. The owners moved back and forth among their properties during our 3 weeks having bbq's or meeting for drinks on their terraces. The place had a very good atmosphere and you'd often see people meeting up going off to play tennis or golf or see them in the restaurants in the local town. It did make you want to be part of that community as they seemed to be having such a good time. So I'm glad you commented because I'd almost forgotten that bit- I think I'd gone back to thinking as a holiday maker who rents and so is always with strangers but of course over time that wont be the case. I remember they were paying 60Euros a month for the community charge but this was a about 3 years back - they'd tacked a notice up reminding everyone it had gone up. So I suppose the 70 euros our agent suggested might be about right. We are really looking forward to the whole thing especially my husband who just wants to play golf regularly so as part time residents we'll have to be out there being sociable otherwise he'll never get a game!!

Saw this on another forum and I suppose this makes it official for any problems in the future, there is a definate start date to work from. So maybe 18months is possible- wouldnt that be great?. By 2009 we'd be furnished, in and drinking vino tinto on our terraces wondering could that be ????? from the forum!! Is anyone else aware of the shuttle bus idea. Collection from the airport and hire car at location if you need one. But for short breaks you could be transported back and forth- we think that will be great. Plus if you are there for a longer spell you dont need to collect your visitors from the airport (unless its just for owners)
Colleague in work has just purchased a superior static caravan in Lake District and its ready for June. Am envious of the June availability but otherwise can wait (just). Want to pick all the furniture now!!

Hi neighbours i am brand new to this forum, We have bought on this development appt 1024 garden no8 or will it be now no9? We paid Parador over £500 for aftersales we have had nothing seen no pictures at all.
So i go surfing on the net and find this great site with some of my future neighbours on this forum. What i wanted to know was some people were talking about a seperate bank guarantee certificate that they were waiting for a long time. I got something written in my contract in a hard cover book so, what is the difference?

I have bought on 12(now 13) but I am not sure why you are paying a fee of £500 to anyone for 'aftersales'?? My agent didn't charge anything. Did you go on a free inspection trip before you purchased? What is the aftersales supposed to include? If you are looking for photo's then this site usually has pretty up-to-date ones from folks who have been out recently. If you wish I can send you some taken at the end of Sep 07 of the Jardines?

We dealt with Imagine Murcia they havent charged us any additional money at all. They have helped with a Lawyer and also followed up a couple of queries immediately. They quickly got us a refund of our inspection trip costs when Polaris seemed to be holding on to them longer than necessary and have made a couple of follow up telephone calls to us. When we eventually get back over we're told to give them a call and they will meet up with us. They will be our point of contact and help with the snagging. There was also no hard sell - so no complaints from us.
Regarding the number change- someone on another thread had been given some documents that showed them to be one Jardines further up than they believed they had bought in, The explanation for that was that the central boulevard had been given a number so pushing up the garden numbers after Jardines 5. Curious, if Polaris say this isnt so.

Hi all
Well been and now back - was really pleased with all aspects and area so gone ahead and sorted contracts - I have some photo's of how build is going and will post ASAP - was surprised how much has been done already - some have already been rendered, painted and have windows in so my agent feels they are more than on schedule for later next year.
Feel a lot better now I have been there and looking forward to a new and better way of life for me and children. My youngest will be 8 when we move, he wants to go to a Spanish School rather than International which is a load off my mind as prices for Kings College are rather steep. I am going out in July next year and renting for a few months as I have hopefully sorted a job out already. Anyway good luck to all buyers and like I said will post photo's pronto.
Carol
