Car insurance help in the UK for spanish car.

Hi all, I need your expert advice.


Right this is the situation, myself and a friend who has also the car purchased a property on terrazas may have acquired a spanish car in the UK that is on spanish plates etc.

The current owner has stated the car has spanish IVA until October all the paperwork is in his name including both green cards a copy of his passport and NIE number, there are also no embargoes, which I'm going to check.


Where I'm stuck is i want to collect the car from him tomorrow (if all is ok) drive it to my house and leave it parked in my garage for approximately 8 weeks before we drive it to Spain where it will stay. How can get insurance for this that's the first problem.
The second problem is getting the documents changed to my name as I don't yet have an address in spain until polaris complete.

Any advice help will be greatly appreciated.

All sorted now thanks eve, andrew has been a fantastic help, i now have a nice spanish reg  renault grand scenic 7 seater sitting on my drive which wei will be driving out in september.
