The boozer!! (french resturant)

Hello Everyone...

 

Just thought Id comment on the boozer....this place is amazing..ok they need to spruce up the resturant a bit...but that will come in time...we walked in the other day and ordered, service was good, be extra special if waiters introduced them selfs and the resturant....other than that, the presentation was A** size of meals exellent, and as far as price was concerned, this place is gonna wipe the floor with all the others!! wait and see....I think you will have to pre book in the near future to secure your table.  The second night we were so pleased with the boozer we tucked in again, and recived a complimentary treat from the chef...who I think has bags of experience and has come from a high end hotel.   WELL DONE to them....keep it up.

The chef from a high end hotel??? I dread to think which hotels you think are high end!

The chef is a lovely girl, and am sure she will love your compliment...

So long as you are happy with it....that's all that matters....I.am still not sure if this was tongue in cheek or not!!

During our last visit we peeped in the French restaurant twice I think and it did not really appeal, the inside is very sparce and bright and on most occasions it did not have many customers so we went elsewhere. Its a new place and hopefully they will get more curb appeal and a killer onion soup!

Why are they refering to the French Restaurant as "The Boozer"? Makes no sense!

On an earlier post it was said the French restaurants name, Le Troquet,  translates to The Boozer!

On Google Translate it is the Bar.

I always thought a Boozer was a type of roughish pub !  And a Bar in France is somewhere very nice that sells excellent wines

Went to the boozer ( le troquet!) on Monday night. While quite sparse inside the food was fabulous - best food on site - highly recommend it!

Bit late, but I got there!

At long last a decent place to eat on CDA. I agree with the comments regarding the decor in that it appears sparse and to me the inside appears clinical as it appears very bare and the lights are extremely bright that I personally would find this off putting to eat in so would only eat there if there is a table outside BUT I'm sure the owner will change this over time.

I personally think the prices are great and the food is superb so much so that I personally would have paid more as do not mind in the least paying extra for quality.

I have been a few times now and on one occasion I waited a while for my meal as I don't think they realised how busy they would be BUT I will give credit where due they could not apologise enough and gave us complimentary drinks and coffee so in my book top quality service.

I would urge all to please at the very least to try this place as it would an absolute shame to lose it.

So for me if your going to eat on CDA it's this place or for a more relaxed meal/snack its Big G.

I know google translates the name to Boozer lol! but it actually means bar/bistro!

Voila!  it really just translates as ' the bar'

As I found. But, whatever- it sounds like once they have found their feet it will be a good place to eat.
