Hi, we have about 20 children aged 3-11 at Collegio Senora Rosario school in Alhama....kids in Camposol go to Mazarron, we are in a different area though we have 2 teenagers at a high school in Mazarron.
To register at Spanish school one or both parents must have Residencia and the children and parent must have a Padron.
School is 9-2 October to May, 9-1 in June and September.
No school uniforms, they take a snack for a 30 minute break at 1030. Lunch is for parents who need childcare after school...its 2-4pm or similar at a cost of 5-7 euro a day. A School bus collects the kids at the Condado roundabout with the tree sign...hope that makes sense. infants and juniors go to the same school. Infants are in a 2 room building to the right of the main building.
You buy your own books...about 200 euro per year. Teachers are addressed by their first name and they are so relaxed. Style/ designer names are unknown...a lot of the kids are just happy to have clothes on their backs. Every 2 years they have to pass a test or they get held back for a year. They have a main tracher for 2 years and different teachers for art, music, PE and English.
They finish school around 18 June till the 2nd Monday in September...(ish). There are no main holidays then until Christmas which this year is finishing 20 December till 8 january...They have a few national holidays between summer and Christmas. Then its easter...the holidays start about a week before the Uk and go back after Easter Tuesday. Again there are other Holy days or national holidays but these are the main ones.
