My wife and i are seriously considering purchasing a villa (Andrea) on the Las Kelandas urbanisation. We have mainly been concentrating our interest on the coastal region(s) of Spain - in particular the costa blanca. As a consequence we know the coastal regions fairly well, and have an understanding of the infrastructures, amenitities, road networks available etc.  However, we recently went on a property inspection tour (Euro Anglo Sur / Prestige Villas) who introduced us to Las Kalendas.

As this was our first time venturing more inland to look at properties, we felt at a disadvantage as we have no idea what facilities the area has to offer e.g. shops, restaurants etc. more importantly we were wondering about medical facilites, vets etc that would be availble. It certainly felt very 'out of the way', and it would appear that you would need to rely on having a car to get to any of the essential amenitities? Could anyone please provide us with an insight to this lovely rustic area, providing any information you feel would be useful when considering the idea of purchasing any property on the urbanisation.

Estimation of times to get to Mercia, Coastal regions, hospitals / clinics etc. would be welcome.

Yours gratefully.

David.

There are several fine restaurants ( accessible by car) close at hand, and certainly one attached to the Balneario complex across the main road within walking distance. The town, at 3km has a clinic. Murcia is 25 mins, along with the facilities any town of 7.000 inhabitants offers. New Corvera airport, up and running 2009, about  1/2 an hour.

On site there is a bar/restaurant and the new commercials are now offering a butcher´s and hair stylist. Any where on the coast is reached within the hour.

I suggest it only felt "out of the way" because of the amount of kms you did running about. seeing different stuff.

I can't thank you enough for the information you have provided. Buying any property is nerve wracking enough without the uncertainties of buying (off plan) in another country. As I said, the area looked absolutely stunning and you're quite right it really is tiresome, confusing and hectic when you are on a quick 'property inspection tour'. It certainly does not allow sufficient time to get to know the area - and that was my concern.

Have you bought in Las Kalendas? if so, have you had any particular problems that you have come across e.g. building problems/construction, aftersales or snag lists that we should possibly be aware of...As i'm sure you're only too aware of, knowledge gained through other's experiences is always useful to those that are following the same pathway.

Once again, we are both very grateful for the information you have already provided - It really has helped.

Kind regards

David.

My house isn´t ready ´til the summer, but I´m more than pleased with the work so far. I´ve had pre-installation for air/con heating /cooling by  ducting put in.....this means unsightly internal ceiling machines are not necessary and just the grills in each room reveal that there is air/con.installed.

I didn´t go for any solarium because a) it´s too hot in the summer, b) I won´t be bothered to use it in the other seasons and c) aesthetically a pitched roof looks much better and by its nature avoids the chance of water ingression; although I´ve seen that all upper teraces or solariums on the different models there are tanked.

Thank you so much for all the advice and information you have provided so far - it has been really helpful.

Should we decide to go ahead and purchase a villa on Las Kalendras we look forward to meeting neighbours.

Thank you once again - David
