At long last, some good news!! It seems that European funding to the tune of around €16,000,000 is being offered to 'kick start' the project. Yay! For more info please look at the Murciatoday.com website.  Enjoy!!

I love this time of year! Its the time when tourism and property sales in the area start to die down, so another round of Paramount rumers start. Its exactly 9 years since I placed a deposit on my property and I have been hearing such rumers every year since. No doubt similar stories were circulating long before that.

The article claims they have secured a grant of 16.28 million Euros from the Spanish Authorties, however this represents about 8% of the estimate completion costs. Premursa have been looking for investers for over 4 years and so far have not raised a single Euro. This means that even if the subsidy is fully approved they will still be over 190 million Euros short.

The closest we will get to a Paramount Park, was that fairground near la Isla earlier this year that everyone complained about.

The 16m euros grant will only be paid when the construction is completed so makes little difference to the current status. Sampas/Premursa still face the very difficult job of raising hundreds of millions from somewhere to get the park built during an uncertain financial period for Europe.
