Train to Valencia

Hi, just wondering if any of you had taken the train direct from alhama de murcia to Valencia? Has anyone bought the tickets from the mobile site etc?

The renfe website seems  bit of  a minefield with different prices etc.

Any info gratefully received

We took the train to Valencia last year direct from Alhama via Murcia & Alicante. Took about 4 hours but it was an excellent service, ran exactly to time, nice comfortable carriages

I did struggle on the Renfe website, it's not clear on the type of tickets required but I found the website below useful, particularly the How to use Refne website section

We printed all our e tickets at home before we went. I think a return ticket was less than €50 each which was great value and you can leave your car at Alhama station free of charge

Good luck, Valencia is a fabulous city if you havent been before. We went for the Fallas festival in March, an amazing experience which we will definitely do again in the future

I was able to book ok yesterday, for info if you go on the renfe site and hit the 'return' button then on the drop-down put alhama de murcia first then Valencia and the dates, it will then give you detail of a direct service.

You will be offered 4 different types of ticket, the cheapest was a promo& but for that one you can't reserve seats etc. For an extra few euros you can reserve seats.

The rest is simply payment details etc, then you can print your tickets directly.

Our trip cost 92e return for 2 people which I think is pretty good, the times are also excellent leaving alhama de murcia at around 8.55 and the return from Valencia 2 days later around 15.30.

Both journeys just under 4 hours.

A lot of the hotels are close to the train station so the whole thing easily planned.
