Hi,

We don't live on HDA but have bought an apartment in the Spanish Village this year, so have been over a few times.

Everyone we have met have been really friendly and welcoming, and given helpful advice when we've needed it.

There isn't a supermarket onsite at the moment, but there is a large Mercado in Fuente Alamo. It's a 5 min car ride, or 15 mins on a bike from the front gate and has everything you need., including a fresh meat and fish counter.

Unfortunately there isn't much information about the resort on Forums, as we found when we were buying, but I would be happy to help with any other questions you may have.

Paul

Hi, we bought on HDA earlier this year and don't live there permanently yet, but we have neighbours with a young daughter who attends school in Fuente Alamo and there is also a senior school which we have driven past.  Both looked modern.  We have just returned from a short holiday and saw quite a number of non-Spanish children playing with local Spanish children and speaking Spanish fluently. They clearly seem to have integrated into the community.  We have also seen groups of children playing football, rugby and tennis at the facilities at HDA next to the sports bar on Saturday mornings, so there are sports activities children can join.  Fuente Alamo is quite a large town with a range of shops and services, including banks, as well as the supermarket and a Saturday market.  It is worth driving round and taking a look as there is more to it than it might seem at first.  I certainly wouldn't worry about making friends, everyone we have met has been very welcoming.  There is a ladies group that meets every Wednesday morning at the golf club for coffee and a chat.  They are lovely, so go along and say hello.  Some of them have children and I'm sure they would be happy to answer any questions you have.

Thank you for your replies very kind of you and helpful, I am sure we will fit in fine it's just my children I am more worried about we have 4 but 1 has got his own property in Spain that he will be moving to in the near future too the other 3 are ages 16...14....and 5 we will probably wait till the 14 year old has finished his schooling here so then that just means we will only have to sort out schooling for our youngest . It's just so hard finding the right area we have been coming to Spain area Cabo roig for the last 10 years but feel that I would like to explore other ares before we decide on where we actually want to live . All information appreciated . Thanks again x

The lady who runs The Spaniard has the details of a guy called Paco Moya in Fuente who operates a taxi service.  My cousins have used it and said he's reliable and a nice guy.
