Butane

I am upgrading my electric hotplate (which has served very well) to a gas bbq. From what I've researched we can get the butane  canisters from garages and the one in Roldan appears to stock these. I have three questions:

1. Do the garages require you to set up a contract, or do they just charge extra for the 1st canister?

2. Is there anywhere else local to buy these?

3.  I've only seen the big (11 kg?) canisters, can we get smaller ones anywhere? I believe that in the UK you can get 5 kg ones?

Hi dave. 

You are technically meant to register at the garage or wherever you get you first gas bottle from , but many people don't bother and by a second hand empty bottle for about 15 euros , once you have a bottle it's just a straight swap wherever you go.

Full bottles are readily available in the area ,roldan ,balsicas,  they are cheap for full bottle it's between 11-15 euros for the large 11 kg . As for the smaller 5 kg I'm sure they are about but as I've never looked I've never seen one .

Everyone I know uses the larger bottle on there bbq's because of the price .
