Good after noon, apologies first as I'm sure your forum must be clogged with this sort of plea.
i am considering buying property on the resort, we are in our early 40's and have 1 ten year old and a cpl of others but they are up and old so don't really count.
We are looking for a two or three bed property our plan is to use as a holiday home no interest in renting out also wanting both sets of parents to use as much as possible.
we are in a position to put the majority of money down, I am a bit of a Luddite but have managed the usual checks.
I have seen the scare mongering but take that with a pinch of salt.
so if anyone can send us any advice about best places or companies to use and just some general real life advice from people on the resort it would be much appreciated.
we are from Scotland and close to Glasgow airport and not golfers but hopefully should the course be reopened I can find another hobby to be rubbish at thanks again Mark, Max and Charlie.

my best advice i can give you (ime going through buying one at minute ) is to make sure you have all your paperwork on your money and where its coming from . i am getting asked some very personal questions about my money by people from england and spain and been asked for some very obscure stuff . THIS FOR SPAIN life history of work and what ive earnt in my last 30 years of self-employment. it used to be you showed last 3 years accounts and tax receipts and this was enough but no longer.this is due to the new money laundering laws which i think some authorities are having difficulty translating.
over here ime borrowing some money towards purchase . i have been asked for copies of our bank accounts private and business and been asked some very stupid questions about them. one for instance i said one week i earnt 400 quid and i put 300 in bank ,they asked what ide done with other 100 i said spent it . apparently that wasnt a good enough answer and a week later i got another question from them what on. xmas presents i said in reply ....lol ime awaiting next question on it ..............ime getting very angry and stressed at minute about it but we want the place so we having to put up with it..........hope you do better than us with it lol

Hi Mark,
Like Mavis, we are relatively new owners - Sept 2015 - we funded from UK too so no Spanish mortgage.
I second everything she says.
Like you we are in our 40's and have two girls - 14 & 12, and we are also using as holiday home, with no major rental plans - maybe just to family and close friends.
There are lots of owners who have been on the resort for a large number of years - some now purchasing second properties . Those I've spoken to are very up beat and do love the place. As do we!
We bought through Olé International, it was a fairly smooth process. Do speak to Chris, he will give sound advice and knows the complex as well as anyone.
Im sure you'll get more replies, but don't be afraid to ask anything- we will do our best to help!
Good luck
Marcus

Hi,
We are also in the process of buying a 3 bed ground floor apartment on Corvera. We are cash buyers but have also encountered some strange requests to satisfy the money laundering requirements of the Spanish banks, just when you think you're almost there they come back and ask for something else which can be really frustrating.
What I've seen of Corvera I'm really impressed and happy with our decision to buy regardless of the closed golf course.
If anybody could provide me with any decent contacts for air con, wifi & British tv it would be greatly appreciated.
We hope to complete in the next couple of days and are really excited and can't wait to kit out our new Spanish holiday home.

Always always always - did I mention always.... ASK ABOUT DEBT.. there is no getting away from it.. YOU NEED TO ASK.. some of the communitees on the Entity have debt... you become liable if you dont ask or dont deal with it before you sign. Ask to see previous accounts and speak to other owners of the blocks...

I am also thinking of buying on complex, really good prices for apartments, a bit wary regarding course being closed as purely for an investment I am thinking of long term
