Just to give everyone an update, we went to Altea last weekend and called in to the Ballester office. We were able to look around one of the 2 bed apartments and the photo's which we took can be viewed at the following web address http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/bluepayney
Sorry the photo's are not better but they were taken on a mobile phone. The shot of the boats was taken at the marina just down from Altea Hills.
Everything now seems finished and the gardens have begun to be landscaped. It seems we are just waiting for the various licences to be issued before completion. Our lawyer has told us that she is hoping we should have the final balance to pay from Ballester very shortly. Apparently for anyone not mortgaging the property there is a fee to be paid to cancel the mortgage that Ballester currently have on the property. The final payment may also include the initial community charge as well.
One thing that we forgot to ask is whether we need to insure the building, or our portion of it at least, or is this covered by the community charge. Does anyone else know the answer to this.?
Best wishes
Nigel and Marian
