The house was unaffected by the landslide, but a fair proportion of the garden went. The builders seem to have put a great deal of effort into not only repairing the wall, also building up the hillside at the back of it, so that the wall is now much smaller than it was before. They have made the wall much stronger, it seems, and have also introduced drainage holes which seem to have been a bit of a major oversight.
There was never any danger to the house itself, and the repairs, which took several weeks of constant work, seem very robust to me. If you haven't seen it yet, you may be surprised by the extent of the work they have done.
Unfortunately the press reports haven't done the site any favours, I'm not really sure why residents would want to broadcast this, but this will die down over time.
I'm a bit frustrated that they are slow putting the finishing touches to the development (I'm in phase 1) but nonetheless I think it's a great development, and I don't really understand why there is so much negativity on the forum. It has to be said, however, that there is clearly a problem with the driveways, and access in general.
