Karen,
thanks for your email, however I can´t reply directly to you as you did not send me your email address, the message came directly from the Eye on Spain website.
Anyway a general reply.......
Having lived on another MASA developement for 2 years (& owned there for 4 years) I don´t think we have any thing to worry about the leaglity of SG, in fact the council of Balsicas seem to be doing it right, in terms of making MASA finish things properly before handing over keys etc.
On Camposol (which is a great place to live too) keys were handed out before roads & services were completed & now we are paying the price of a MASA vs Mazarron Council wrangle. I am confident that this will be sorted eventually but in the mean time we have to put up with some unmade roads, areas with no land lines, generator electricty etc. ect. This it seems will not be the case on SG & therefore a much better start.
However what these means is that people who have sold up in the UK or elsewhere thinking that their property is going to be ready on time are going to be very disppointed. Our house on Camposol was over 2 years late. And I expect similar delays on SG.
So if I have one piece of advise for anyone, if you´re planning to retire / move to Spain & do not want (or can´t afford) to rent, then do not sell up in the UK until you have the keys to your house on SG.
THis is just my view & experience of living here. This area of Spain is a beautiful place to live, I´ve been amazed by the friendlyness of the Spanish (although a bit of Spanish helps) people, the climate is superb & I´m sure it will be worth the wait.
