Hi, my name is leo and I am new to the forum.
my wife and I, along with numerous spanish owners, attended this rather hastily called meeting by san Jose. We were given 2 days notice and no map to get there nor anything to drink while in a meeting for a couple of hours. Not very impressive management to say the least.
The gist of the meeting was to get residents to support San Jose in its tribunal meeting before a judge (date not known) to counteract the claims of the 'green party'. Essentially san Jose want residents to give them power of attorney in support of their action - the more the better as support for the completion of El Pinet. However, like the British owners the spanish are reluctant to comply and, having been given a copy of the powers, it is understandable that many do not wish to oblige for they are far too broad and unspecific. If they had simply stated the case was essentially just to support this one action many more may comply but at present something like 20 people have done so. San Jose would prefer 60+.
However, one or two points came out:
the houses completed are legal and have been passed 3 times by the relevant authorities.
San Jose are committed to completing the remaing 10% of the development and stated that smaller firms would have gone bankrupt by now.
if they fail at the next tribunal they will just start another action until they get permission
the green party will not compromise and this is the first such action they have taken.
I was disturbed to see and hear other builders present and wanting our support - I have no allegiance to them
the site will truly by magnificent if it ever gets completed.
there seems little chance of the develoment being handed over to the council and mains water and electric installed - even if done in zones, until completion of all the site.
essentially, we all came away no further forward and depressingly there seems little chance of anything being resolved in the meantime. No date was given for the tribunal meeting and you wonder where the truth lies. We are all in limbo but at least those with deeds and completed homes appear safe and legal. There are so many different agendas going on that it is has become extremely complicated.
I hope this is a fair reflection of the meeting and welcome anyone elses comments, corrections etc.
cheers,
Leomack
