Having arrived back at our apartment yesterday afternoon (21st Nov) at around 3.30pm after a two hour trip out, we were horrified to find that our front door had been forced open. Fortunately, mobile phones, passports, other electrical items, etc were left in tact only £ 80 in cash and a credit card had been taken together with a new tube of toothpaste (this remains a mystery !!). Has anyone seen a suspicious character with gleaming white teeth?
As usual, Rob came up trumps with a telephone number for Malcolm. He was with us within the hour fitted a brand new lock and steel box at a very reasonable cost. The work was completed very quickly and as we were travelling back to The UK early this morning, left us free of worry. Under the circumstances, things might have been a great deal worse and I guess we were just lucky that we had all our personal effects with us.
The irony is that we had a steel security door fitted to our kitchen only a couple of weeks ago whilst we were in the UK and did not give any thought to the front door.
I think I am right in assuming that at the time of the break-in, we were the only residents in block G and we did close the door behind us when we went out. It was open when we arrived back.
If you read this Rob or Doreen, I don't have your email address.....but once again, many thanks for your help.
Best regards,
Paul Henley
