We bought a HD ready television in Spain but the television signal in this area does not receive HD but I believe it is coming soon.We also have a television we brought from UK that works fine over here but again can not check HD.

As for M16  more people are starting to arrive but not a lot,street lights are back on good help in finding wine bootle and glasses in a hurry .

The most common sysyen used in the area is provided by Telmicro Levante  and uses a microwave signal and a square nesh aerial to deliver the system and I have this in 2 other properties locally

you can get information from lots of installers websites by searching on their name

There will also be a signal dleivered by the coax points in the property as by law the builder has to provide a spanish TV signal via central aerials

Install cost €499 and €20 monthly for all the nomal systems but this technology, which uses a decoder box and card in the house, does not currently allow for broadcast of HD

The sensible thing is to get this system added to the communial system

There are also deals on installation around on a regular basis with a €1 install fee

Because the connection to the box is via a scart lead and the tuner for the digitial box type system is not used it does not matter if the TV comes form the UK or Spain howvever LCD and Plasma TV´s are, if you know where to look, the same price or even cheaper in Spain so there is little benefit in bringing one from the UK

The only issue would be using the spanish system which is different from the UK

The only way I use HD is from a PS3 games abd DVD player and the HD lead

We have looked at many shops and found Media Markt to be the best for TV's in both price and choice. The stores are huge and sell every conceivable electrical appliance.

The two nearest stores are at the big retail park just outside Cartagena and at Nueva Condominia near Ikea in Murcia.

I can confirm that media markt as recommended by jogary is an excellent place to buy your telly.

From SG, in my opinion,  the closest store is Cartagena, join the AP7 and  follow the signs and you can see the retail park on your right. (PLUS NO TOLLS TO PAY TO GET THERE!) 20 mins drive.

The AP7  takes you right down there but keep your eyes open because the road lanes change a bit and the priorities of where you need   to be change accordingly.  You need to carry on until you see the retail park sign and once off the motorway, work it out from there!. It's a little bit confusing first time and I will let you know if it is easier next time we go.

We have only been once so I am trying to work from memory with directions but it is well worth a visit and allow a large proportion of your day to see it all as there is a massive array of shops, this was the jewel in our crown of retail parks.

As you go back , keep your eyes skinned as the roads merge and you need to observe your required lane closely ( or go on the a 30 to Murcia as we did and then had to turn around to rejoin our required route!)
