Hi All. I have just realised the threads 'Good news in Spain!' and 'Bad news in Spain' have been next to each other recently. Has this been done deliberatley or not!

I totally agree re the silver lining, I spend six months of the year in la herradura, my son and his family live in Cotobra which is in Almunecar Andalucia. La herradura is magical, the life style, lovely people, the climate is wonderful. I am hoping to make it my full time home in the next couple of years. Almunecar where my son and his family live, has seen many changes for the better in the eight years they have lived there. It is an excellent place to bring up children, the schools both Spanish and International are top notch. the whole area very quickly regaining it wonderful charm which should never have been disturbed in the first place. The area is in the Costa Tropical and rightly named too. As TJ222 writes there is a huge lack of crime and I totally agree traditional values are among its top qualities.
