Very funny Eric!!
Having worked in tech support, I can believe that a customer could be that stupid and that the person on the helpline would get that frustrated!

Justin, or indeed anyone... please will you do me a favour & look at this thread (click on link )>> Funny Videos you have to giggle at. as whenever I look at it I believe it's playing up !
I see my last post (which was a video)on 28 Jun 2007 10:37 PM but it has Justin's video of the car leaving the garage area. I'd put a few on after that one of Justin's, which all were ok then I put this last one on, it initially seemed fine too. Next time I tried looking it's screwed up.
I've tried looking a few times & it's still not right, there are a few I've put on gone.
Justin, please go look & try & sort it.

Yes Morerosada,
There is a prob on the link.
Your last post doesn't show a video link to click on, just a large blank space.
If I try to go back to the previous page, it come up with "Error" and an exclamation mark in red
Justin is on hols at the mo so can't sort it.
You can e-mail Dee and she will get him to look at it on his return.
Hope this helps........

Aw well, never mind. It did post ok initially cos I checked it had.
Isn't it clever how putting certain figures & letters into a box can create a video though ?
Little wonder things occasionally go haywire, is it ?

Does anyone have statistics as to the effectiveness of the EOS website with regard to selling houses. I see several apartments on EOS which have been advertised for several months. Does Justin know how quickly people have managed to sell their apartments on the EOS website ?? I realise it depends on several factors - but I wouldn't mind getting a feel for it. Any figures would be useful as I am considering using EOS to advertise an apartment for sale.

Hi Captain (sounds cool that).
I will give you some figures but they are not accurate! Let me explain...
As of now we have 316 properties listed for sale on the site. Since we started the listing service (I think over a year ago) we have had 476 properties listed in total. This means that 160 properties have been removed by thier owners from the website. We can only assume that the reason for this is that they have sold their properties....although not necessarily through EOS. That equates to 33% of people successfully selling their properties.
Now, as we don't actually get involved in the enquiry/ sale process at all (all enquiries go direct to the owners) we don't know the true success rate of an EOS listing. We do have several testimonials from people who have sold as a direct result of being listed on the site but we don't ask people for feedback after they remove their property (although we should...and we will), we rely on people just telling us whether they have had any luck or not.
There are many factors that come into play and we are aware of various areas where people make mistakes in their listings. Some people don't even bother to upload some pictures which is just crazy.
Looking at our stats for today, 12 of the properties listed have received a combined 14 enquiries. I'm sure many agents would be VERY happy with that sort of level of enquiries in one day.
One thing to note too is that some of the older properties listed have received many enquiries, one has had over 120 enquiries! I can't prove it but I think it's an agent who is using that one property to generate leads for other properties...he must be doing ok
At the moment we are getting around 6,000 visitors to the site every day of which around 4,500 are new daily visitors, and these are our slowest months as many people are now going on holiday.
I could go on and on.....
We don't guarantee any results, we never have, and we always advise that people use more than one method to sell their property, especially in a tough market like we have now.
If you have any specific questions please let me know.
Justin

Where exactly do we find these properties that are for sale? I've gone into the 'sell my property' bit and it says there are no properties for sale

Hi Justin,
I have a problem with email notifications. Seems to work generally but I have noticed, when I've looked on forum, that some threads I was posting in have the note above asking me if I want to have email notification when previously I had ! Consequently I've had to read many posts in some threads which I've missed.
Can you check on this please ?
Thanks.

Yes, I'm aware of this issue.
It's a complicated procedure but essentially the problem is that although a notification email is sent, there seems to be a delay in people actually receiving the email.
When an email is sent to you you are then removed from receiving further notification emails until you click the link in the email.
So between the other person's post and you seeing the email there can be a short delay. At that point if you looked at the thread it would tell you that you are not subscribed to it, essentially because you haven't yet clicked the link in the email.
I need to understand what causes the delay in people receiving the email...but that's complicated!!
Hope that explains it. We have actually improved this delay factor but we are still trying things out to see if we can sort it properly.
Justin
