Is it possible for a community to break away from a Mancomunidad?

I know there are benefits of scale, but there is a general feeling that we would be better off on our own.

As a first thing I would say no.

You would also have to consider the fact that you would have all the costs to absorb for the facilities in the area so in my opinion it would probably be a highly costly ongoing exercise, although I wouldn't have thought you could do it.

I've certainly never heard of it happening.

What type of Mancomunidad are you talking about? Several community of owners together? Initially with the proper agreement on payment of commun elements and respecting timeframes agreed, I would say that the separation is possible. I would need to look into the Minutes of the Meeting where the Mancomunidad was agreed though..
