Dont be in too much of a rush to sell up and buy in Spain, as maria has said the best option at the moment is to long term rent and let someone else take the hit of the house prices dropping.
We currently rent a 4 bed villa with a 340k mortgage and pay only 700 a month and a villa very similar a few doors down was sold last month for 280k.
Im glad we havent purchased yet and still think there is a long way to go untill the house prices are stable and priced properly.
If you can get a rental income from your property in the UK its definatly the way to go.
