Merry Crimbo everyone.
For everyone in Costa Blanca area, please remember those less fortunate. We´re collecting gifts for the children in the EMAUS Care Homes in Elche and Altea. If you wnt to buy a gift for a child (most at present are between 9 and 17 years old, boys and girls) let me know where you are and I´ll tell you where you can leave your gift.
Currently there are 22 children in the Elche home and are predominantly teenagers. They are lovely kids and deserve a better start in life, so if you want to make a little difference, here´s where you can start.
It doesn´t end there... we need to raise funds throughout the year to make their lives better. The authorities provide the bare necessities, but to give them those little extras that we all take for granted we are constantly trying to raise funds.
Perhaps your local bar or community centre would like to do something for EMAUS? May be a quiz night, a raffle, or a karaoke event for example, would be absolutely wonderful.
Thanks
Irene & Alan

Many thanks More for the TV and thanks Candyfloss for your kind comments.
We´ve had a very busy day... not only did we collect the TV from More, but we also collected a car load of presents kindly donated by the Christmas Shop in Torrevieja. The lovely Lucy (shop owner) also went out and bought pyjamas for all 22 of the children currently in residence in the home.
That´s not all either, she has another shop in La Nucia and has been doing similar stuff up there.
What can I say... such generosity... this lady surely deserves a reward.
Thank you Lucy

Well done to Irene and Alan, who are demonstrating the true spirit of Christmas, as is More in donating her TV. Lucy is a star too!
We live too far away to be able to give you anything, however a local group is collecting presents for children in Jumilla, so we are going to take some along next Wednesday.
More, it is my turn to take Lisa for her evening walk and it is VERY cold here. I will be wrapping up warmly and walking VERY briskly! Plus John will be instructed to have the electric fire turned up high for our return and a glass of vino ready to help me recover!
Sue
