As ever, we all want/like different things. Long may that continue.

For the Ryanair fans, if anyone wants a case of the exact dimensions of 55x40x20cms I can recommend the Max Cabin Flight Bag which was designed specifically by a guy using Ryanair flights. I can also recommend GadgetUK who supply them and have given me great service (I have no connection, I just found them on the web when looking for an exact dimension case).

There is a trolley version however, the trolley handle protrudes by 5cms making it 60cms high and we all know what happens to you if you're caught out.

Of course, Mr O'Leary will offer to sell you his Samsonite Aspire which also fits the exact dimensions but thats £69. he's just like Del Boy electronic cigarettes, scratch cards, suitcases. More like a market stall than an plane!

£30!!!!!!!  Chris you clearly have money to burn.  Got my exact specification bag from Ikea near Malaga airport including handle and wheels - €7.

It's an extra €12 if you pay by credit card;  €7 if it's debit card and €15 to pay by cash.  And you can get straight to the front of the queue at checkout for an extra €13.  It comes with a one year guarantee (€6) but you can extend that to three years for an extra €12.  If you present it in an Ikea trolley there is a surcharge of €9 or you can use the shoulder bag for only €6.  If you just carry it to the checkout there is a charge of €24 to cover health insurance against possible hernia claims.  And there is a charge of €4 to cover possible cancelled or delayed purchases.

Seriously though, Ikea is the place - €7 is a great price.

I just today booked my daughter on a London Stansted to Turin Italy flight with Ryanair in June for 20 quid return including everything. I cant get a train ticket from Colchester to London for that even buying advance train tickets. Need I say more?

GTB

yes, fantastic price. Seems that Ryanair just don't want families with any luggage.

I was picking my daughter up from Alicante airport today and took this video.

AENA need a good kicking for allowing this to happen. Typical response by Ryanair but the point is that Alicante cannot afford to lose 2 million people spending money each year. I expect a resolution very very soon.

Did you have to assemble this bag/suitcase after you bought it, if so it sounds like the one I bought from Ikea many years ago.  I've been trying to get another one here in UK but there no longer selling them.  Best buy I made, the gubbins are on the outside of the case making packing so much easier.

Malaga's a little too far to travel but I might see if the one in Murcia stocks them.  If I can work out how to get there from Torrevieja.

Don't usually shop in Ikea, anyone know if you can search for items they stock on-line?  If so do you have the code or details Jek?

As usual respondents talk about using alternative airlines but for at least 6 months of the year Ryanair is the only one to operate out of Doncaster, Leeds and East Midlands.

Easyjet has withdrawn from the East of the UK, presumably can't compete on price.

I have flown with all the low cost operarators, Easyjet , Ryanair, Jet2, BMI Baby, Flybe and Monarch. For ease of flight and relaxation it is monarch hands down. The rest are much the same , herd on herd off thanks for your money.

But the carrier that has the most on time flights are Ryanair. That is a fact.

There are ways of cutting costs if you want to . 1. Mastercard prepaid credit card= no credit card fee. work out for yourself how much that would be. 2. Ryanair credit card. Pay for your food and petrol with it and clear at the end of the month. It can earn you four return flights a year. Saving £240.3 Cut out the priority, for me pointless.

As others have said in this thread play their game and you can still pick up a bargain.

For me Ryanair pulling out of Alicante will be a huge blow as the choice of carriers will diminish and cost of flying will rise. So well done Ryanair for standing up to the airports decision and here is hoping it is reversed before it is too late.
