Help! Bees Nest!!!!
The Comments |
A nest of Honey Bees has settled in the telecommunications box outside my house on a private urbanisation. I have heard that they may be protected but what can I do as it's a red day tomorrow and Im scared of them getting into the house.

Why would they want to come into your house?? No pollen there is there?
Ask about in the village including the local policia and find out the nearest known beekeeper. Odds are they're his bees anyway. But if not, he'll be delighted to come and collect them from you. It's the time of year for swarming when a new queen leaves a hive with thousands of worker bees and will start her own colony. Watch him gather them up - it's an impressive sight.
And what's with the protected question? There will be about 10,000 of the little darlings. What were you planning to do? Hit them with a rolled-up newspaper? Wouldn't advise it!!

Don't know where you live, but there is a chap advertising in the Costa Calida Chronical (page 20) to have bees/wasps removed. The business is located in Totana. I just keep an eye out for wasp nests and when seen spray them, but I think you may bee(pun intended) right about bees being protected. Here is the link:- http://costacalidachronicle.com.
Good luck.
