It was a wonderful feeling watching the newly-weds emerge from the church. It brought back old memories from the 80's when Prince Charles wed Lady Diana.

Seeing a royal wedding after so long brings in a proud feeling of tradition, honour and a sense of renewal that's quintessentially British.

All the best to the royal couple!

Yes , congratulations to them both and so kind of them to hold it on my 65th birthday.

It made what would have been an ordinary day into one to remember.

A fabulous spectacle that only we Brits can do right!

A truly beautiful event, and even though I have lived here for 11 years I am truly proud to be British as were/are all the mums that celebrated with us today!  Good luck William and Catherine x

Being the old cynic I am, I am not ashamed to admit I loved it.  Hasn't she got a beautiful smile?  The strains of Jerusalem, even the UK National Anthem sounded marvellous in that setting.  The choirboys were great, the whole occasion seemed wonderful and the crowds were magnificent.

What a pleasure to see others around the world taking joy in this occasion.  The Irish Times and Irish Independent have it as front page news and are rejoicing in it which bodes well for Her Majesty's visit to the Republic next month.  The New York Times, the Australian, Der Spiegel, El Pais and even Chinese newspapers are reporting on it and all put a positive slant on it.  It was great on the telly but what an occasion it would have been to have been present or in Hyde Park.  Even that lefty organisation the BBC seemed to take great pleasure in the day.

And, cynical head back on, just think how much income the occasion would have brought in to the country.

So, congratulations Your Royal Highnesses, and I'm glad you chose the uniform of the Irish Guards to get married in, so much nicer than that railway porters lookalike uniform they give you in the RAF.

Now, I wonder if they have enough points to move into a married quarter or will they have to go on a waiting list?   Hope she likes magnolia paint!

I wasn't originally going to watch it as I'm not into that sort of this but got rather hooked on it as it went on.

Anyway, congratulations to a lovely couple.

I'm sure there are some very disappointed women out there who felt there was always a little chance.....

A great day.

Justin
