We are currently using a dongle for our internet but need to get a landline up and running so we can make calls, use the internet and hopefully get a UK TV package.  After reading many articles and adverts we are totally confused which company to choose.  We understand that Telefonica have to install the landline but you can then choose someone else for call packages.  But from what we´ve read Telefonica are not the easiest people to deal with and are unreliable.  Could anyone please give us some advice which is the best way to go?!

Thanks

In my experience, yes in the past Telefonica have been pretty rubbish but over the past couple of years I think they have improved considerably.

I haven't had any problems with new lines, connections, etc, with them recently and I am much happier with them than I used to be.

I can't speak for other companies but I, personally, have found Telefonica to be just fine.

I think they need to start paying me some money for saying some nice things about them....I'm sure they are not used to it

Justin

I can only speak re the last two years with Telefónica and they have been fine. Recently reduced our monthly tariff for our adsl connection (upon request) and we have a USB dongle from them that is excellent - the majority of the time it is sat in a wifi base bought from Telefónica and we get speeds of about 5mb most of the time. When we had a Vodafone dongle we rarely got a download speed over 1.5mb.

When we had an issue with them about the landline connection, it was dealt with within 24 hours. We can't complain.

Ordered my adsl with TF on a Friday afternoon, it was installed on the Monday . Must say though, I think I was the exception. Getting pretty much constant 10mb download, but up to as much as nearly 12mb. They do lots of offers for connections, including free installation, so go for them anyway, you can always look around 12 months later (as I did t my regret), or haggle with tem and stay.
