How much is the cost of cremation in Spain ? . My other half would like to know before I bury her in the garden.

€400.  That's €399 for the barbecue and €1 for the charcoal.

I've told my missus to bury me under the hedge at the bottom of the garden.  I planted the thing, might as well continue feeding it once I've gone.

Sorry, a serious reply:-

I have not done it here, but shop around.  A cremation is like any other service or product, who would take the first price they saw?

In UK I got a 50% discount on the first price I was quoted for a funeral, and it was all the same, the number of cars, the plot, the priest etc.

Many thanks for your reply .

I thought I might have got a bigger response to my question but maybe everyone is shy about responding to a question about dying or maybe every expat lives longer in Spain and no one has died yet.

Why not call these people and ask.

English Funeral Directors
Francisco Camero S.L., Avd. Juan Luis Peralta, 4, 29639

A point have made before, so forgive me.

If you are faced with repatriation of a body, and the expense is a problem, why not cremate in Spain and send / take the ashes to UK. There are no regulations which prevent postage or flying with human ashes.

Or check out the local tanatorio.

By the way, haven't been in our local one but it looks quite nice and seems to have a bar in it. Proper ceremony that is!
