Hz-does this mean you have decided to bring your mother to Spain? Yes, you can "piggy back" on her entitlement(unless rules have changed) but if your mother dies, you are left without free care. if you are working, in Spain then you would have to pay a large chunk of your earnings to Social Security-this would ensure your health care, but if you stop working then you have a problem. I remember that you used to be able to get free care for two years if you are nearing retirement age. I cannot understand why you don't just telephone the DWP and get information from the "horses mouth". That way, you won't be confused by the varying opinions and conflicting information of others. Surely it is wiser to get all your information together first, before even contemplationg such a huge step?
