I know Georgia mentioned this a while ago but look here..
Commercial/Shopping Centre Planned
Perhaps you may have heard the rumour that Algorfa is going to have its very own Commercial/Shopping Centre. This Centre will be bigger and will rival the Murcia Shopping Centre (the one that incorporates IKEA).
For once Rumours-R-Us are absolutely right!
The Centre and parking will be over several hundred square metres and will be located on the present site of the MASA cement fabrication works and alongside Zoko (Sunday) Market. MASA and its dusty neighbours, have been given notice to quit and they must be off the land by January 2008 because work on the Centre is planned to start early next year. Parking space for 7,000 cars is also planned, so you can imagine the magnitude of the site. This website will keep you informed of the progress.
This Centre will be such a boon for Algorfa. Being positioned bang next to the AP7 means that none of the Urbanisations of Algorfa, or even Algorfa Village, should be affected by the increased traffic.
One of the stipulations the Mayor has demanded, is that a regular bus be organised between the Urbanisations and the Villages to take shoppers to the Centre. The buses are to be financed by the Centre.
The Centre will also include meeting points, restaurants, bars and other cultural facilities.
