Removing gas installation in Spain
The Comments |
Hi,
I am looking to remove the gas installation which is currently in my flat in Andalucia (basically the pipework in the kitchen). Does anyone know what the regulations are around this? I assume there exists a body in Spain of certified professionals who are trained to carry this out?
Thanks

Hi if your gas supply is LPG just turn the valve off on the bottle and remove the governor .
If you are on a gas meter then get the meter removed they will cap the pipe of for you at the inlet.

It sounds like you might have a communal system here, where all the large bottles are kept in a ground level store and then pipework is run up to the kitchen of every flat? If this is the case you should speak to your administrator, he/she will know.

I'm not sure TBH. Its supplied by Gas Natural Fenosa, and there's a meter installed.
I've read in the UK that its illegal to remove the meter without the permission of the owners (i.e. the Gas company). Is this the case in Spain?
The problem is that the contract is in the name of someone who has not lived there for years (and unfortunately it is not the previous owner), and Gas Natural Fenosa are refusing to do anything as we are not the "titular".
