Molar,
I looked into compensation as we too were due to complete....quote 'the second semster of 2006'. I spent about a week researching the estimated loss of rental income with similar developments in the area, but my solicitor when presented with my hard efforts appeared uninterested at he prospect of taking on a big developer. Undeterred I took them on myself and managed to secure a furniture pack fairly easily.
I would have have pulled out before now, however, on reviewing my
cleverly worded contract it clearly states that if the property runs over the completion date stated in the contract, I had 15 days to pull out. After that the buyer
'accepts the delays'. Very impressive lol. To be fair the developer has been pretty good and I am actually now looking forward to owning the place.
Question for the moderators of the EOS forums: If there is not one already would it be possible to have a name and shame list of naff developers, solicitors, banks, services etc so your members can see at a glance the good, bad and ugly in the Spanish property buying process? Im sure this would also help to raise the overall quality of services across the board. Just a thought, a bit like the ebay feedback rating system.
Later,
Ken.
