We have been looking at some rural land plots near us to expand our gardening activities
In contrast to urban plots, they're not that easy to come by as I guess most are sold by word of mouth.
There is one nice plot we have looked at, but it turns out that a high speed railway might get built over one corner of it. It is by no means certain this railway will ever be built and they are still at the phase of evaluating alternatives, so even if it does get built, this plot will not necessarily be affected.
But I was wondering, if it does, what can we expect? Would they take the whole plot, or would it be partitioned and we would get to keep the parts not directly affected. What would they pay? Would we get the catastral value, or would the sum payed be based on what we payed? Does anybody have any experience with this?
