hello, im writing to see about existing residencia, i lived and worked in tenerife for over 10 years but unfortunatly had to return back to the uk , but happy to say im back in spain and i had a residencia in tenerife but it was the card type and wondering if its accepted here in spain in did expire so just wondering if i have to apply for a new one also to make things worse it was in my maiden name ? so would it be bettter for me to apply for a new one in my marriage name

The cards, and "residencia" as such, were abolished for EU citizens a while back. Your NIE number should still be valid though, and you'll need to go to your local foreigners' office or national police station to register on the foreign residents' register. You'll need to give proof of income and health insurance, & you'll receive a small green bit of paper with no photo on - your certificate of residence in effect, which is useless as ID. Not sure what you'll need re: the change ofname (marriage certificate?) but they will advise you.
