Moving to Spain as a maintenance caretaker

Hi all just need some advice hopefully moving next year I have been asked to renovate the house and the casita grounds etc we can live there permanatly rent free just pay utility bills I,m not at pension age but my wife has a private pension £1000 pounds per month I know I would have to pay for healthcare for both of us through there 60€ paying in scheme be trawling web for advice but my head is blasted with it all any help on residency tax etc cheers

By the paying in scheme I assume you mean the convenio especial. You can only go on to this after one year of being a resident. To become a resident you have to show sufficient medical cover (private in your case) and sufficient funds to support yourself.
You'd have to have private cover for at least a year and then apply for the €65 per month per person health-care.
Not sure what the sufficient funds criteria is for a couple.

Wouldn't you have to be self employed with all that entails?
Have you looked into the tax situation and the financial and health requirements for residency?
