UK car in airport parking, no mot and tax

Hi

I have a UK registered car in airport parking which I was planning on changing to Spanish plates but due to covid travel restrictions have not been able to get over to start the process, unfortunately the mot and tax has now expired :( can I book it into a Spanish garage to start the process and drive it to the garage or will it need to be a tow truck job?

You would need a tow truck..as your car needs to be fully legal from its country of origin .. from January 21 you will need to pay import duty on what the car is worth in Spain plus around €1,500 to get it plated and a ITV ..I would make enquiries with a company that specialises in re-registering a UK car in Spain personally I think you are going to be shocked at the total price ...you should also make enquiries to see if a none resident can import a car in to Spain.. quite a few things have changed ..since the UK has become a so called third country.

Thanks for replying, I did get a few quotes which I never got to go through as been stuck in the uk, I did actually think about buying in Spain but it's far to expensive :(
