Costa del sol or Costa Calida

Hi looking for some good honest advice on where to buy a holiday home/ semi retirement part time home

Take your time and rent in different places for maybe a month in each location. This will build your knowledge, feel, and accessibility of the areas.

They are quite different, in my mind both pretty good. 

CDS is more glitzy in places, expensive, lively, noisy, cosmopolitan.  Costa Calida is better priced, more Spanish, relaxed, better beaches, seasonal and marginally more friendly.

I reckon CDS is a place that's well suited to visit as a holiday destination, but Costa Calida might be better to live for longer periods.  Of course it really depends on the individual. 

Try Costa de Almeria , between San Juan del Los Terreros and Mojacar
best weather in mainland Europe, for an ordianary apartemnt in CDS you can get a nice house , Spansih but also welcomimg to Brits and your €go further
